Types Of Services Available
Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) is a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). It runs over one pair of copper wires, with a maximum range of approximately 3 kilometers. The main difference between ADSL and SDSL is that SDSL has the same upstream data rate as downstream (symmetrical), whereas ADSL always has smaller upstream bandwidth (asymmetrical). However, unlike ADSL, it can’t co-exist with a conventional voice service on the same pair as it takes over the entire bandwidth. Typical SDSL services are available up to – 2mb
MPLS stands for “Multiprotocol Label Switching“, it is used for companies with multi sites that want to share information across a WAN, and prioritise different packets of information, such as voice, or video.
MegaStream Ethernet securely transfers data, or mixed voice, data and multimedia, between Ethernet ports over your own private circuit. Available as a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint (aggregate) service, it provides circuit bandwidth in increments of 2, 5 or 10Mbps (up to 100Mbps), using ATM private virtual circuits across the core network.
You can create a highly secure, international private network with exclusive point-to-point connections between your locations. So wherever you operate, you can use your own dedicated lines to securely and quickly transfer data, voice and video communications between your sites. We offer reliable, effortless, managed point-to-point conncections with more than 100 countries throughout the world.
Ethernet extension services interconnect with token ring and ATM local area networks, so you simply plug your equipment into the network terminating equipment (NTE) that sits at either end of the optical fibre cable. Circuits available include EES 10, EES 10LR (Local Reach), EES 100, EES 1000, EES 2500 and EES 10000 which interconnect two Ethernet LANs between 10Mbits/s and 10 Gigabit in size.
Analogue private circuits are ideal for building voice networks or transmitting data regularly between sites over a dedicated, secure connection. It is an inexpensive solution that provides a permanent, always available connection between two locations, with a fixed annual charge for usage. Cheaper solutions can provide services of up to 4mb for companies with locations in the same telephone exchange.
ISDN 2e is ideal for companies which have less than typically 8 lines who want services such as direct dial in, which allows every person within an organisation to have a direct telephone number without having a dedicated line.
ISDN30e is ideal for medium to large businesses, and provides from 8 to 30 telephone lines (channels), and services such as direct dial in, which allows every person within an organisation to have a direct telephone number without having a dedicated line.
Analogue lines provide devices such as faxes, modems, & PDQ’s with a direct line. Whilst they are now more increasingly being added as extensions to the telephone system, analogue lines are required for services such as ADSL
